Where Have You Been?

Oh, hello, friends. I have not blogged for too many days!  The truth is, all is well in diva world.  Life just sort of gets away from you. Do you know what I mean?

I am still beautiful, thank you very much, and in charge of my kingdom!

Supra the Wonder Dog, my brother from another mother, is doing great too.  My human boy, Garrett, got a house of his own and Supra now lives with him and his girlfriend.  But that is good for Supra.  He loves his boy, Garrett.  We still visit often.  He is getting old and is enjoying retirement.

Then there is the annoying fluffy puppy, Denali.  Do you remember him?  He is now over a year old, and over 100 pounds!  Still annoying, and HUGE, but he knows who the boss is around here.  My boy Blake got huge too.  He will be a sophomore in high school next year.  But I am still his main diva.  He loves me, and I love him.  Denali gets to enjoy the hiking…because I hate hiking…but then my boy is all mine!

Finally, chickens.  Yes, I am still the number one chicken guardian.  Miss Annabelle and Miss Rosie are still driving me nuts!  Sure, they are bigger than I am, but I am their protector.  I keep them safe from hawks and cats and any other possible danger. And as if these two biddies were not enough work for me, mama added 4 new chickens!  What was she thinking?  Now I have to protect Gaia, Artemis, Daisy Ray and Yoshi-Goddess of Eggs.  I am one busy diva!  It is a tough job.  One only an amazing diva can handle.

Denali “pretends” to guard the chickens.  Truth be told, the only thing he is good at guarding is his stick.

Oh, and we have a new human family member.  My boy, Casey, got married and has a new little human.  They named him Axel.  He is pretty cute…for a human. 🙂

They say there is nothing more beautiful than a growing family.  True.  However, there is also nothing more beautiful…than me.

Denali:  “Yeah mama, I’ve got this guardian thing down. Chickens…check!  Keeping Diva out of the chicken poop…check!  Making sure Supra does not eat the chickens…check!  Snuggling with my boy when he gets home from school…check!  Life is good when you are a  Great Pyrenees. But I think it might be time for you to get the crops planted.  The garden boxes are looking a little empty. I am ready to guard the tomatoes too…just saying.”

Excuse me?  No one guards the diva!  I mean really…

April 28, 2016 – So Much Has Happened!

April 27, 2016 – The Daily Diva…

Good hello dog lovers.

Much has happened in the last 30 days since my last update.  Don’t worry, I am fine.  Well as fine as can be expected when one’s world is turned upside down!

First, this happened…

Ducati is gone forever!  My boy Casey got married and has taken his Ducati to live with him and his wife.  YAY!!!  He is happy, I am happy and all is right with the world.  He still comes to visit every time they come over. 

Life is good!  I am on the back of my throne, with no one left to bother me.  Expect for Supra, and he is no bother.  I don’t mind Supra the Wonder Dog.  He takes my boy Blake and senior diva hiking, and heaven knows I do not like to go hiking!  Thank you, Supra.

Then last Friday, my boys and senior diva were gone for an entire day.  A 20-hour road trip to Washington state.  You can read all about their adventures HERE.  When they came home, they had this… OH MY GOD!!!!  NOOOOO!

I did NOT authorize the acquisition of this tacky, floofy, polar bear rug, return it immediately!!!Someone, please make my crazy world stop spinning…I want to get off! Just when you think life is going according to plan…the plan changes.  

Everybody loves him, and he is even good with chickens.  *sigh*  I guess he is here to stay. “Hello, world!  My name is Denali, Dozer’s Legacy.  I am a 10-week-old, almost 19-pound, Great Pyrenees puppy.  Pleased to make your acquaintance!  My primary duty in life is to be ridiculously adorable and annoy they heck out of Miss Lilly.  Mission accomplished!  I will be a new regular guest on this blog.  Hmmm…should we change the name to Denali and the Diva?”No, just no.  I am still the star of this blog!  And the star of my boy’s world.  And that my dear, fluffy, obnoxious little polar bear…will never change!

March 28, 2016 – Happy Easter!

March 28, 2016 – The Daily Diva…

Good hello dog lovers.

Happy Easter!  I know, Easter was yesterday, but I am still recovering from the crazy that was Easter Sunday!

It started out quite lovely.  My boys and senior diva enjoyed their annual “Coloring of the Easter Eggs,” celebration.   Why anyone would paint a perfectly delicious egg is beyond me, but they did come out looking rather cool.

Then we had family over.  I do have a lovely family.  My boy Casey and his lovely wife Brianna.  These are Ducati’s humans, and they have a tiny human on the way. My boy Garrett, and his lovely girlfriend Genevieve.  She is nice, she loves us doggies and that is very important around here.  However… …she brought her dog to my kingdom!  Oh, the horrors!  This is Snookie, the Boston Terrier.
There is only room for one female canine in my family, and I am it! I told Snookie that she was welcomed to visit every now and then, but she can not stay.  I mean really…I do not share my boys with anyone!

All in all, it was a delightful day.  Snookie left when Genevieve left, and all returned to normal.

I will enjoy my reign as queen of the kingdom until the end of days…or at least until April when this fluffy butt joins our pack.  However, Denali will be but a wee puppy.  He will learn to follow my rule.

March 24, 2016 – What About Us?

March 24, 2016 – The Daily Diva…

Good hello dog lovers.

Yesterday the world was celebrating their canine companions for #NationalPuppyDay.  And were we celebrated?  Oh nay, nay! Senior diva says we are no longer puppies.In a very rare moment of solidarity, Ducati and I put our puppy heads together and decided that today would be our day.  We shall call it #HappyNationalMyDogIsOldAsDirtButStillFabulousDay!Yes, we are senior canines…Ducati is 10 years old, and I am 6 years old…but we are still fabulous!!  🙂

Speaking of seniors…Happy Birthday to my boy Garrett.  He turned 28 years old.  My oldest boy Garrett, and my youngest boy Blake, my two favorite humans on the planet.In other news…puppies!

We have all been missing our friend Dozer so much since he left to travel over the rainbow bridge.  The house has not been the same without our gentle giant friend.  Senior diva found a Great Pyrenees puppy and has decided that we shall invite him to spend the rest of his forevers with us.  He is only 4 weeks old right now, so we won’t be bringing him home until next month.  He is pretty cute though!  We shall name him “Denali, Sweet Spirit of Dozer,” and he will be our forever squishy.

March 14, 2016 – In Loving Memory

March 14, 2016 – The Daily Diva…

Good hello dog lovers.

A few weeks have passed since we lost our friendliest friend Dozer, but it feels like he is still here with us.  Dozer had such a sweet, gentle nature, and brought a warmth and joy to everyone he touched.

Today, my senior diva received some keepsakes she had ordered to remember our Dozer by.  Inside each of the keepsakes, she placed a bit of Dozer’s soft fur.  A lovely paw print for herself……and a cool little chrome capsule for the boys, Garrett and Blake.  We also received a gift of this lovely dog puzzle, carved from wood.  It looks just like Dozer.He was an amazing canine friend, our Dozer, and we miss him very much.

In other news…my boy Garrett has been working on a YouTube channel for his photography.  Here is a recent quick edit he created of a very cool photo shot in Donnelly, Idaho.  Garrett takes multiple exposures in RAW format in order to capture every detail he sees through his lens, then combines the exposures in post-processing using Adobe Lightroom to produce his final, EPIC, result.My humans really enjoy their photography!

Did you see the sunrise this morning?  It was quite spectacular!This has been a nice, easy, quiet Monday.  I love it when that happens.

This evening I am watching the sunset from my favorite spot on the entry table, next to my favorite window, next to my favorite friend the wooden duck.His name is Woody.What else would one name a wooden duck?

“Crispy?”

“Sawdust?”

“Fallen Tree?”

“He Was Once A Mighty Oak?”

Nah…Woody it is. 🙂

This is what happens when you leave your cool shades on the table unattended.  They now belong to me!I am in need of a nice weekend of relaxing adventures.

Living with chickens is far too stressful for the little diva that is I.Maybe with these cool shades on I can sneak past these two little biddies and snatch their special senior-diva provided treats!
